The Design Story
The Liberty side chair is the perfect complement to the Liberty task chair. It offers comfort, style and flexibility in a conference seat. Designer Niels Diffrient teamed up with textiles designer Elizabeth Whelan to make a mesh design that would give, and still provides just the right amount of firmness for automatic lumbar support. Ther mesh back of the Liberty is made by combining three panels of this mesh, tailored in the same fashion the way high quality shirts are designed. This results in custom-made contours, and a conference chair that fits and supports the human body perfectly.
